By implementing project activities, we wanted to build on the results of past projects in the Pohorje area, such as NATREG, WETMAN and ALPA. In developing and upgrading recreational and tourist routes, we aimed at the values and exceptional nature and Natura 2000 areas in western Pohorje, and thus at building a community where natural values will be perceived as a common good and real development potential.

Among other things, we are:

  • We designed and established the Kope Thematic Hiking Trail with information and interpretation infrastructure made of Koroška spruce and Pohorje stone - it runs between Grmovškov Dom and Ribniška Koča.

  • Additionally, we have completely renovated the signage of the mountain trail between Kaštivski sedlo and Ribniško jezero.

  • We designed and renovated the signage for mountain bike trails on Ribniško Pohorje - with wooden support posts for signposts made of Koroška spruce.
  • We designed and built information and interpretation infrastructure made of Koroška spruce and Pohorje stone: along the Drava Cycling Path (along the Dravograd Lake and Bukovje Manor) and the cycling path along the Mislinja Valley (in Slovenj Gradec, Tomaška vas and in Mislinja).
  • Designed and implemented a multi-day, 20-hour training course on sustainable tourism and nature protection - as a supplementary training for local tourist guides.
  • In 2015, they designed and implemented the so-called Pohorijada – a day to promote ski touring on Pohorje.
  • Designed and produced promotional material, including:
    • a 12-minute multivision of Pohorje and two shorter multivisions about Pohorje and Lake Dravograd,
    • a brochure with a map about the Kope Thematic Hiking Trail,
    • tourist map of western Pohorje,
    • updated and reissued the tourist map of Koroška,
    • reprinted the brochure Geological Treasures of Pohorje.
