Network Business Incubator Koroška (MPIK) – an opportunity for young companies

One of the key projects is the Network Business Incubator Koroška (MPIK), which has been supporting innovative potential entrepreneurs, startups and development-oriented companies on their path to success since 2011. RRA Koroška is the content manager of MPIK, which means that we manage the procedures for finding suitable companies and their inclusion in MPIK, while also implementing all substantive business support activities.

The incubator services are intended for potential entrepreneurs and companies from the entire Koroška region, and within the framework of the RRA Koroška, as the content manager of MPIK, we cooperate particularly closely with the municipalities of Radlje ob Dravi, Ravne na Koroškem and Slovenj Gradec, which own the entire MPIK infrastructure. The Koroška Network Business Incubator covers 5,800 ^m2 of office, production and coworking spaces and is currently the largest Slovenian network business incubator in terms of area.

The distribution of premises by municipality is as follows:

• In Slovenj Gradec, MPIK operates at two locations – MPIK1 Slovenj Gradec na Ozare is an office incubator measuring 650 m ² , while MPIK Innovatorium in Pameče offers offices, production facilities and a coworking space with a total size of approximately 1,915 m ² .
• In Ravne na Koroškem, MPIK has 4 units, consisting of 26 offices (total 520 m ² ) and 13 production facilities (total 2,235 m ² ). They are located in the center of Ravne and in the Dobja vas business zone.
• MPIK Radlje at the location Dobrava 44a offers 6 production facilities with a total area of approximately 480 m ² .
• Certain MPIK units also have meeting rooms that can be rented by both incubated companies and external users. Their sizes range from 12 to 70 m ² .

Anyone who is thinking about starting a company or has already started their business journey still has the option of renting MPIK office and production space at extremely affordable prices.

MPIK preferentially provides affordable rental of business premises to companies that:

• are under two years old (essential condition),
• develop and market innovative products or services,
• they create new jobs.

Joining MPIK is not just renting a space - companies also receive comprehensive support in the form of mentoring, consulting, entrepreneurial training and support from the entrepreneurial community. In the period January 2017 - April 2025, under the auspices of the RRA Koroška, as the content manager of MPIK, we carried out over 160 events and more than 5,600 hours of mentoring. MPIK also cooperates with more than 30 external entrepreneurial experts and offers exceptional opportunities for networking and promotion. All of this significantly contributes to a company's greater chances of success and growth.

Since its inception in 2011, 222 companies have found space in MPIK, and 57 companies were operating in its premises as of June 2025. The incubated companies collectively generate an average of more than 10 million euros in annual revenue and employ over 100 people.
