The Partnership for Pohorje continues its successful sustainability story in February with free bus transport to Kope. Together with the Regional Development Agency for Podravje – Maribor, the Regional Development Agency for Koroška and the company Vabo, they provide free bus transport to and from the Kope ski resort. A similar sustainable mobility initiative is also available from Slovenska Bistrica to the Jakec Trije kralji ski resort, with the support of the Municipality of Slovenska Bistrica and RIC Slovenska Bistrica.

Carefree and sustainable to Kope and Three Kings

Anyone who wants to visit the Kope ski resort will be able to take a free bus ride between 15 and 22 February 2025 on the Slovenj Gradec – Kope – Slovenj Gradec route. This will offer two lines every day: a morning shuttle at 8:15 (behind Hotel Vabo) and at 8:20 from the Slovenj Gradec bus station, and an afternoon shuttle at 17:00 from behind Hotel Vabo and at 17:05 from the Slovenj Gradec bus station. The bus will return to the valley in the afternoon and evening: first at 15:00, and the second at 20:30. The free line is intended for everyone – both locals and tourists visiting Pohorje and Koroška.

Following the example of the Partnership for Pohorje, a similar initiative has also been launched in the southern part of Pohorje. Also during the winter holidays between 16 and 23 February 2025, a free ski bus to Tri kralje will run on the route Slovenska Bistrica - Tinje - RTC Trije kralji - Slovenska Bistrica.

Regular transport also to Mariborska Pohorje with Areh and Rogla

Visitors to the Mariborsko Pohorje ski resort with Areh will also be able to access Areh this year with a regular ski bus running in the direction of Bellevue and Areh, as well as visitors to the Rogla ski resort with a regular bus line from Slovenske Konjice and Zreče.

Everyone's desire is to facilitate access to the ski resort in an environmentally friendly way, while adapting to the needs of visitors. This way, enjoying the snow will be carefree, as free transportation is available to anyone who wants to get to Pohorje (Kope, Tri Kralje, Mariborsko Pohorje with Areh and Rogla) comfortably and sustainably.

Statement by the director of the RDA Podravje – Maribor, Nataša Ritonija: "One of the main priorities of the Partnership for Pohorje is the promotion of sustainable tourism. We are pleased to note that together with this sustainable initiative we are succeeding in raising awareness among lovers of white slopes about the importance of caring for the environment, which is our shared responsibility."

Statement by the director of the RRA Koroška, Uroš Rozman: "With the free bus service to Kope for the second time this winter, during the winter holidays, we will provide visitors with a comfortable, safe and environmentally friendly way to the ski resort. In this way, we promote sustainable mobility and reduce traffic congestion in Pohorje. I believe that this form of transport will be most popular with young people who have not yet passed their driving test and all visitors who want to enjoy the joys of winter carefree."

Statement by the director of the Vabo Company, the operator of the Kope ski resort, Boštjan Paradiž: "We are pleased to repeat the campaign of free bus transport to Kope during the winter holidays. We believe that this will attract additional skiers or just lovers of winter joys. The skiing conditions in Kope are excellent, all slopes are in operation. In parallel with the free BUS campaign, we are also offering a favorable "holiday" ticket with a hot drink included via the 1nadan portal for just 25 EUR."

Statement by the director of Hotel Jakec doo, operator of the Jakec Trije kralji ski resort, Aleš Juhart: "We are pleased that the Municipality of Slovenska Bistrica and RIC Slovenska Bistrica have once again made free transportation to Tri kralji available to our guests during the winter holidays. At Trej kralji, we support the development of sustainable tourism and traffic relief in Pohorje. We will be grateful to everyone who decides to opt for an environmentally friendly form of mobility and choose public transport."

No advance reservations are required. Free transportation is available until all available seats are filled.

Welcome and see you on Pohorje!
