A three-day international meeting, Alpine Week, took place in Nova Gorica
The meeting is taking place for the twentieth year in a row, and this year's events are united under the motto "The Alps in our hands". The event takes place during the two-year presidency of the Republic of Slovenia over the Alpine Convention. This is an international treaty concluded by the Alpine countries (Austria, France, Italy, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Germany, Slovenia and Switzerland) and the European Union, with the aim of promoting sustainable development in the Alpine region.
RRA Koroška became the ninth Info Point of the Alpine Convention at the beginning of this year. At the invitation of the Ministry of Nature, Resources and Spatial Planning, we participated in an accompanying event on the first day of the Alpine Week. We presented our experiences with participating in a survey on the quality of life in the Alps and with our colleagues from the ZRC SAZU, who were the Slovenian leaders of the survey. The Koroška region was one of the pilot areas in the survey.
