Regional development

The municipalities of the Koroška region have recognized the need to solve the problem of abandoned animal care by building a shelter and on their behalf we are carrying out activities related to the preparation of the project within the agency. We have prepared a basic project proposal, which includes an analysis of the current situation and the need for a shelter. Currently, the care of abandoned animals in this area is provided temporarily, mainly through the activities of the Koroška Society against Animal Cruelty and by using shelters in remote towns outside the region. The project is key to improving the quality of animal care and to sustainably solving this pressing issue.

Project objective:

To establish a modern and accessible shelter for abandoned animals in the Koroška region, which will provide quality care and humane conditions for abandoned animals and effectively solve the problems of their care.

Purpose:

To enable a comprehensive solution to the problem of abandoned animals within the region.
Reduce dependence on shelters in remote regions and provide rapid and local assistance.
Strengthen cooperation between municipalities, voluntary organizations and other stakeholders in animal care.

Vision:

To become an exemplary example of a regional solution for the care of abandoned animals in Slovenia by establishing a shelter based on high ethical standards, sustainable operations and strong support from the local community. The shelter will not only be a place of care, but also a center for raising awareness, education and promoting a responsible attitude towards animals.

The project is intended to:

To the municipalities of the Koroška region, which will have the possibility of a permanent solution for the care of abandoned animals in their area.
Animal protection societies and other voluntary organizations that strive for animal welfare.
Residents of the region who are facing the problem of abandoned animals or want to contribute to solving this issue.
Veterinary services that will participate in the care and medical care of animals.
Potential adopters who will find the opportunity to adopt animals at the shelter and thus contribute to their better future.
